Black, White, Canvas, and Pen
And let’s not forget screentones and cross-hatching.
I’ve always been drawn to the world of manga, where everything is expressed in black and white. When I draw manga-style art, I feel most able to follow my own instincts. I draw lines, place solid blacks, and build up screentones and cross-hatching until the image comes together. For me, that process is an irreplaceable joy.
I Want to Live Peacefully in a Place Where I Feel Safe
That is what I want.
Spending time alone is very important to me. I value quiet moments where I can return to my own pace and feel at ease.
I love manga, and I first started drawing through fan art. Drawing has supported me many times throughout my life. Even when life has felt difficult, drawing has given me a little distance from that pain.
That is why I continue to be drawn to the world of manga. It is the world that led me to art and helped support me, and now I hope to give something back through my own work.
Between Black and White
An Imperfect Story
Commissions Are Open
I’ll turn that “this is the moment I love” feeling about your original characters into a single illustration.
I especially enjoy drawing moments that feel like a page taken from the middle of a manga—just one scene from a larger story. It can be fun, quiet, or even a little unsettling.
Maybe it’s “I can totally imagine these two doing this,” or “I’d love to see this scene.” I’d be happy to hear about those kinds of moments.
Let’s capture one little piece of their story together.
